Thal University Bhakkar has signed a Memorandum of Understanding with the University of Engineering & Technology Lahore to establish a joint research programme in renewable energy and water resource management in the Thal Desert region.

Thal University Bhakkar held its second Annual Convocation on May 15, 2025. Punjab Governor and Chancellor, Ch. Sarwar, presided over the ceremony. A total of 420 graduates received their degrees across five faculties.

Thal University Bhakkar has announced that 200 fully-funded seats are reserved under the Girls' Education Scholarship for the 2025–26 session. The initiative is funded by the Punjab Higher Education Department and targets female students from the 11 districts of the Thal region.

ORIC, Thal University Bhakkar hosted its first International Research Symposium on Arid Land Studies, bringing together researchers from 12 universities across Pakistan and four international institutions. The symposium featured 38 research paper presentations.

The Controller of Examinations has released the final examination schedule for Fall 2024. Examinations will commence from January 6, 2025. Students are advised to download their admit cards from the student portal at least five days before their first examination.
